As the 2025 rafting season draws to a close, there’s no better way to say farewell than with one final adventure down the river with Big Creek Expeditions. Our last official rafting day of the year is Saturday, September 27th—a date that’s quickly approaching and promises to deliver all the excitement, camaraderie, and natural beauty that make every trip with us unforgettable.

For both seasoned rafters and first-time adventurers, this is your last chance to experience the rush of paddling Big Creek’s famous rapids before we pack up for the winter. The late September scenery is nothing short of spectacular: crisp mountain air, golden leaves fluttering in the breeze, and the serene sound of the river carving through the Smokies.

Trip Times and Options

To help everyone join in on the fun, we’re offering a special schedule for our closing day:

• Upper River Trips: Three thrilling whitewater runs at 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM. These trips are perfect for adrenaline-seekers who want to challenge the rapids one last time.
• Lower Scenic Float: A gentler, family-friendly float at 2:00 PM. This trip is ideal for guests who want to soak in the fall scenery and enjoy a more relaxing river journey.

Whether you crave the white-knuckle action of the upper river or the peaceful beauty of the lower float, there’s a trip for every type of adventurer.

The end-of-season trip isn’t just about the river—it’s a chance for our community of guides, staff, and guests to come together one more time. How to Make the Most of It
