Fish - Trip Leader

Fish rafted for two years recreationally before he became a certified guide. He has now been professionally rafting on the Pigeon River for 14 years. He is certified in First Aid and CPR. Fish is in charge of our training program and ensures all of our guides are prepared to get guests down the river with ease. Fish is from Cape May, NJ. He enjoys water sports, hiking, riding motorcycles, rollercoasters, and going camping. Request Fish for a thrilling whitewater adventure.

Shane - Trip Leader

Shane has been working as a whitewater raft guide for 21 seasons. With certifications in Swift Water Rescue and Wilderness First Responder, Shane has the experience and knowledge to show our guests an exceptional time on the river. His favorite thing about being a guide: "Sharing the experience of the river with people and the camaraderie of the other guides and my co-workers at Big Creek Expeditions." Shane is a talented musician, graduating with honors from the College of Charleston with degrees in Jazz Guitar and Music and Composition Theory. Darrell U. - Trip Leader

Darrell has 35 years experience as whitewater rafting guide with certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Wilderness First Aid. He is from Charlotte, NC. Darrell has one daughter named Maggie. He enjoys spending his free outdoors or playing music.

        Briggs - Guide

        Briggs has 27 years of whitewater rafting experience on an abundance of rivers. He has certifications in CPR and First Aid as well as being a Wilderness First Responder for 22 years. He thouroughly enjoys spending time outdoors doing things like rafting rivers, hiking, and moutain bikig. He is usually ccompanied by his dog, Polly The Rafting Dog", who enjoys spending her time outdoors as well.

        Joan - Guide

        Joan grew up traveling all over the US, pilot/colonels daughter. She found peace in whitewater and the mountains that surround it. She has five years experience in river guiding and certifications in CPR and Swift Water Rescue. Joan is the mother of an amazing daughter, she loves to write and draw, hike, is a movie buff, and music fanatic. She is forever searching for different colors in the sunset. A self-described class clown with a serious Alabama twang, a trip with Joan will keep you laughing!


        Cody - Guide

        Cody has two years of experience as a river guide here on the Pigeon River. He also has some experience with Kayaking. He is certified in First Aid and CPR. He was born and raised in Lakeland, FL. Cody is an avid hiker that has hiked trails all over the country including two months spent on the Appalachian Trail. He is a lover of the outdoors, travelling, whitewater. His Chi-Poo, Polar, shares his passion for spending time outdoors.


        Nick - Guide

        Nick has been commercially rafting with Big Creek for two years now and has one year of recreational whitewater experience as well. He is certified in CPR and First Aid. Nick is from West Liberty, OH. His hobbies include making music, espeically with the Guitar and Drums. He also enjoys spending time in Nature, Frisbee Gold, and traveling.

        Mitch - Guide

        Mitch has been whitewater rafting for 5 years as a private boater and 1 year as a professional guide. He is certified in CPR and First aid. Mitch is originally from Hot Springs, AR. He enjoys canoeing, camping, hiking, and traveling in his free time.

        Joseph  Gb

        Joseph - Guide

        Joseph has enjoyed whitewater rating recreationally for the past five years and this is his first year as a professional river guide on The Pigeon River. He is now certified in CPR and First Aid. He is from Kansas City. Joseph likes to go trail running, camping, and on road trips for fun.

        -"It was our favorite activity on our vacation. We had Joseph as a guide and he was really good. We had a safe and fun float trip!"

        Ernie - Guide

        Ernie (Erin) has five years experience in canoeing whitewater and one year experience in professional whitewater rafting. She is certified in First Aid and CPR. Erin also has a degree in Accounting. She grew up in Northwest Arkansas. Ernie loves to spend time outdoors and traveling.


        Cam - Guide

        Cam is new to whitewater rafting and this is his first year as a checked out guide on the Pigeon River. He has recently been certified in CPR and First Aid. He enjoys baseball and long walks on the beach.


        Jimmy "Freebird" - Guide

        Jimmy was apart of the U.S. Army and has certifications as a Paratrooper, Ranger, Airborne Air Assaults', Combat Life Saver, and Javelin Master Gunner. This is hs first year as a river guide on the Pigeon River and certified in CPR and First Aid. Freebird is from Bullfrog Valley, AR.

        "I was boating before I could drive, I could read water before i could read books, I taught Aquaman how to swim, and I resuscitated Poseidon"


        Alyssa - Guide

        Alyssa has been rafting and kayaking four years recreationally and this is her first year guiding professionally on the Pigeon River. She is certified in CPR and First Aid. Alyssa is from Gatlinburg, TN. She is married with two children, two dogs, and 3 fish. She loves to boat, hike, fish, and spend qaulity time with her family.


        Evan - Guide

        Evan is a first year guide on the Pigeon River with 6 years experience as a private boater. He is certified in First Aid, CPR, and Swift water Rescue Level 1. While he is not guiding boats you can see Evan driving one of our buses. He has a Class A CDL with passenger endorsements and 6 years of shuttle experience. Evan is from Maryville, TN. He lived in Big Sky, Montana for the last five years working on the Gallatin River. He enjoys whitewater rafting and canoeing in his spare time. He has two dogs, Moondog and Windy Wind.
