What To Expect at Check-in
Get Checked In For Your River Adventure In The Smoky Mountains

At Big Creek Expeditions, the check-in process is designed to be seamless and straightforward. When you select your check-in time, that’s your designated arrival window—there's no need to come earlier. Once you arrive, you have a 15-30-minute grace period after your chosen time for all guests to complete the necessary steps.
During this time, guests are expected to sign waivers and make sure they're dressed appropriately in secure footwear for the adventure ahead. It's important to lock up any valuables in your car and turn your keys into the office. Don't worry about your keys; the front desk staff has a secure spot to keep them safe.
Once everyone has checked in, the trip leader will gather the group for a brief safety orientation to ensure everyone is prepared for the journey. After the orientation, you’ll meet your guide, who will provide you with all the gear you need and help you get ready for your river adventure. This organized approach helps ensure that your experience is enjoyable and safe right from the start!
After you meet your river guide, you'll board a bus for a short, approximately 15-minute drive to our put-in area. Once you arrive, the guides will unload the rafts and provide everyone with some final instructions to ensure you're all set for the adventure ahead. Then, you'll be ready to embark on your whitewater river expedition!
